Mercedes-Benz Returns to Turismo Carretera for 2026 Season

Mercedes-Benz has officially announced its car for the 2026 Turismo Carretera championship, making it the sixth brand in the national motorsport scene. According to Agencia Noticias Argentinas, the vehicle is the new Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupé TC. Representatives from Germany authorized the car to be modified to feature the brand's star logos. The drivers for this German car will be 22-year-old Otto Fritzler from Bella Vista and 30-year-old Diego Azar from Del Viso. Fritzler, who has been competing in TC since 2023 with two victories to his name, stated, "It's a great honor to be a Mercedes-Benz driver, and I will take it as professionally as possible with the responsibility it deserves." For Azar, this will be his debut with the team, although he has previous experience representing Mercedes in the Top Race from 2014 to 2019. It is worth noting that this is not the first time the brand has competed in the country's most prestigious category. Back in 1937, during the first-ever season of the Argentine Speed Championship, driver Luis Brosutti from Santa Fe became the runner-up driving a Mercedes-Benz.
